Metolius Recon Crash Pad

The Metolius Recon Crashpad is an excellent medium to large-sized tri-fold pad that uses slightly thinner foam to keep the weight and size down. Its 3-panel design has angled hinges that allow for compact folding, making it easy to transport to the crag. Unlike other pads, the angled hinges eliminate gaps, allowing the Recon pad to be stored folded up.

Aside from its convenient design, this pad also features a small external stash pocket for your small items, as well as large inner pockets for your bouldering essentials such as shoes and chalk. Additionally, there is a flap that covers the shoulder straps when deployed, preventing them from getting dirty on muddy days. The dual drag handles and aluminum buckles make it easy to move around from boulder to boulder, and they won't break even with rough use.

The Recon utilizes three layers of foam to absorb impacts - a 25 mm (1") closed-cell top layer, a 60 mm (2½") open-cell center, and a 15 mm ( ½") closed-cell base layer. It is made of a durable 900d body fabric, and it features a cross-clipper logo rug for cleaning your shoes before your send go!
