Ropes have come a long way in the last 20 years. We stock a comphrensive range of climbing ropes that will cater for you climbing style and personal preference. A climbing rope will do more then protect you from falling, but a good dynamic rope will reduce impact on your protection/climbing equipment and your body. It’s important to choose a rope suitable for your climbing style.
There are 3 main types of climbing rope: single, half and twin.
Important factors to consider for all climbing ropes include impact force (the amount of force transmitted to the climber and gear when a fall is held – generally lower = better) and weight and durability (you’ll usually find a trade off between the two). Dry treatment is useful if you climb on sea cliffs, ice, bad weather or the mountains as wet or frozen ropes are significantly weaker, heavier and a pain to handle.
