The La Sportiva Boulder X is the result of years of dedication and design tweaking. They have managed to produce a shoe that not only looks great but has great levels of support and comfort.
The exterior of the shoe is fairly stiff, and the rubber toe rand adds an extra layer of protection to your toes whilst also providing some extra grip. Despite a tough, durable exterior the Boulder X is one of the comfiest approach shoes around. This is due to the mesh lining which is present in the back half of the shoe and the inside of the tongue.
A bit of extra underfoot padding (compared to previous models) results in longer term comfort on trickier approaches, whereas the uber sticky Vibram® Idro-Grip rubber compound stays sticky on every type of rock even when wet. The leather uppers incorporate a patented asymmetric lacing system derived from the Mythos.
