This sizing advice is based on two pairs of brand new shoes. Leather shoes tend to stretch
more than synthetic shoes. When switching from synthetic to leather you may want to select a smaller size.
The low-volume version of the Evolv Phantom, the Phantom LV is an excellent choice if you struggle to fit the standard Phantom model, if you are someone with low-volume feet, or regular climbing shoe's dont fit well in general.
The Evolv Phantom has been designed with heavy input from Evolv's top athletes, it is powerful and sensitive with enough stiffness for support on those tiny edges. Evolv has incorporated a variety of technologies into the Phantom to achieve the highest possible level of performance from the shoe.
The NEOFLEX knuckle box features a neoprene laminate which has a 2-way stretch to allow the knuckle box to expand when flexed and retract rapidly when flatter, this means there is less pressure over the toe knuckles even with the healthy coating of toe hook rubber. The midsole has a TPS+ (Tension Power System Plus) technology which allows the Phantom to maintain its downturned profile over its life span but also provides extra support for the arch of your foot.
The midsole also uses an AVT (Abridged Variable Thickness) to give you more toe sensitivity whilst not compromising on support. The 6 point, single pull, closure allows for quick and easy adjustment to fit with excellent security and the addition of D rings add durability. The heel is probably the most sensitive in the Evolv range, dubbed Dark Spine S, this is the combination of the Dark Spine midsole with a thinner 2mm heel outsole making it excellent for technical heel hooks.
