The DMM Brass IMP Set 1-5 contains all 5 sizes of nut in this particular range. I.M.P stands for Immaculate Marginal Protection which sums it all up pretty well. They are used when standard nuts are becoming a bit too big and you want to get a bit of gear in no mater how small. They work brilliantly in narrow cracks and use an aluminium swage which holds the wires parallel but also allows one wire to slide. This means the nut is loaded more evenly on both sides. The swage is colour coded too, so you’ll always pick the right one from your rack.
