Get sports climbing quickdraws, quickdraw sets, and trad climbing quickdraws from top brands, including Black Diamond, Petzl, DMM, Ocun, Wild Country, and Beal.
A quickdraw consists of two carabiners connected by a length of webbing. This webbing provides some extension to gear placements meaning that the rope can run more freely and there’s less chance of your gear being flicked out by the rope. Most people will carry between 8 and 12 ‘draws of varying lengths for general sport and trad climbing. There are many different types of quickdraws, so it’s important to know what you are looking for. Sport climbing quickdraws are heavier and easier to grab, whereas alpine draws are lighter and usually feature a wired gate that is resistant to freezing and locking up. The Ocun story begins in 1988 when Pavel Hendrych started making harnesses at home. His main tool is his grandmother's sewing machine, and his materials are mostly decommissioned brake parachutes from the Czechoslovak Air Force. A couple of years later Pavel's hobby starts getting more serious. He quits his day job and goes full-time. Since then the Ocun range has rapidly expanded to include hardware, boulder pads, climbing shoes, carabiners, chalk, and much more. Fast forward to 2015 and Ocun doesnt just make its own goods, they make soft goods for some other renowned climbing brands.
